I am thinking of changing the os on my daughter's pc from Win7 (pc is nowhere near powerful enough to run it, eg. 512kb ram, stabdard vga graphics card) to Linux Mint LXDE.
Does anyone have any experience or can offer me any advice on setting up an Epson SX130 printer/copier/scanner and wifi using a Netgear WP111 dongle ?
I am trying to persuade her to go powerline for wifi, but that will have to wait.
Any advice gratefully received.

Oops, senior moment there.
Of course I meant powerline for internet connection, not for wifi.

Re: Printer & wifi
For your wifi you'll need the ar5523 driver: http://blog.radevic.com/2012/02/how-to- ... pn111.html
The driver for your Epson printer can be found here: http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Eps ... 130_Series
You need the "DEB" file on Mint, and you'll be using 32-bit if it's LXDE. Direct download link is: http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/op/st ... 2_i386.deb
You can just double-click the DEB file to install it. After getting the driver you should be able to add the printer with Printing in the menu (but I don't know how that works on LXDE).

Re: Printer & wifi
Thanks for the reply. Sorry to be so long in responding but I only have access to my daughters pc once a week.
I followed your suggestion, and the printer/scanner are working fine.
Thanks again.
