Can installed apps automatically show in main Mint menu?

for the most part they all appear in mint menu

Most of the time, yes.
Some apps do not show up. For example, plain old Timidity is a sound program that allows midi files to run. It doesn't show up. Windows apps installed through Wine often don't appear either.
Your regular apps however, should show up if they have a pretty gui.
