Unable to mount location, authentication is required !SOLVED

Postby scotthge on Tue Apr 24, 2012 7:34 pm

I have been trying to figure out how to access a partition on my hard drive but I keep getting the error, " Unable To Mount Location" Authentication Is Required". I have looked thru the forum and have googled but still can not access my data.

The partition is a fat32 partition with files and data on it.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Scotty

Hello altair4,

Thank you for your reply. I never did get the problem solved after working on it all day, so last night about 10:00 pm I inserted a gparted live cd and re-formatted the partition and started from scratch with the new iso just released and everything works now. I know that isn't the correct way of doing things but I had other problems that were plaguing me that I could not find any resolution for after many hours of searching and reading. So I decided to do a clean install with the new iso and give myself a fighting chance .

Thank you so much for your reply and eagerness to help me.
