Reminders don't work in Evolution

Postby Duanra on Sun Apr 22, 2012 3:48 pm

Hi everyone !

I would like to use the evolution's calendar, because of its integration to Gnome 3 but I have a problem : no reminder would show up before an appointment.
I've made some research on the web and it turned out that the service evolution-alarm-notify is the one in charge for this thing, but it's desperately missing on the computer.
I tried to start it via console :
Code: Select all
arnaud@pandore:~$ sudo service evolution-alarm-notify start
[sudo] password for arnaud:
evolution-alarm-notify: unrecognized service

Then I thought a package might be missing, but according to my findings on google this service is related to the package evolution-data-server, which is installed on my machine. I reinstalled Evolution just to give it a try, same problem.

If someone has any idea, please let me know.

Thanks,
Duanra

Same problem here, LMDE 64bit, mate desktop, evolution 3.2.2, and no notifications from the calendar.

In control center the notification works, and email notifications are working too.

Update: Fresh install and using Cinnamon, all works fine
Thinkpad T410s, LMDE 64Bit, Cinnamon
