The last couple of days I have received an error message when using the update manager:

I am a relative newbie. I searched the forums and while I found issues related to repository errors, I'm not sure they applied to me. So I am turning to you.

First, I'd check your internet connection, which is probably fine, and then I'd run sudo apt-get update again. I think you'll have the same problems. I just realized this (I don't use getdeb), but the getdeb.net page isn't working (at least for me). The only advice I have is to try sudo apt-get update later. Unless you want to install something from getdeb, you don't really need to worry about it, it isn't essential.

This has nothing to do with your internet connection, getdeb repos are currently down as happens now and then. This same question has been asked a few times in the last day or so, please search the forums before you post.

Sorry, must be me. I did search. I saw problems with repositories, but not with those.

I've been experiencing the same issue. There might not be a way around it.
Check this post out, someone explains it pretty well. I hope it helps you out
