What is going on with my Desktop?!

Postby jonezy187 on Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:13 pm

Some of my windows in linux are skewed when opened. When i maximise them they return to normal. I'm guessing it is some kind of driver issue as i removed the xorg drivers according to this forum http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=97315 and attempted to replace with the ATI/AMD proprietary drivers but they left me in the state i was in before explained in my other post http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=100222 so they have been removed. Does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

Solved it. It's a problem with the suggested driver update for FGLRX prop drivers. They can also cause letters to go missing on the desktop and become unreadable. In the end i downloaded the most recent driver from April from AMD's website and that worked perfect with no bugs. It also solved my problem with HDMI audio output.
