LMDE 201204 / Sid upgrade / GTK+ Mint themes broken?

Postby ugh on Wed Apr 25, 2012 3:04 pm

After installing and upgrading to Sid the MintX & MintX Metal GTK+ themes don't look as expected.

The Greybird theme looks nice though.

The only warning I've seen:
Code: Select all
(cinnamon-settings.py:11194): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: unity.css:20:22: Not using units is deprecated. Assuming 'px'.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

i believe you need murrine engines for that theme
Code: Select all
apt policy gtk2-engines-murrine
gtk2-engines-murrine:
  Installed: 0.98.1.1-5
  Candidate: 0.98.1.1-5
  Version table:
 *** 0.98.1.1-5 0
        500 http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ testing/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
check if is installed

Ja it's installed. I did downgrade the engine to testing but that didn't cure it either.

these are the engines i have installed (but i'm on testing, as you saw above, so can't check if the theme broke in the meantime in sid)
Code: Select all
dpkg --list | grep 'engines'
ii  enchant                                       1.6.0-7                         Wrapper for various spell checker engines (binary programs) # <<this is not a gtk engine
ii  gtk2-engines:amd64                            1:2.20.2-2                      theme engines for GTK+ 2.x
ii  gtk2-engines-aurora                           1.5.1-3                         Aurora gtk+-2.0 theme engine
ii  gtk2-engines-candido                          0.9.1-pablo4                    Candido engine for GTK+ 2.x
ii  gtk2-engines-murrine:amd64                    0.98.1.1-5                      cairo-based gtk+-2.0 theme engine
ii  gtk2-engines-pixbuf:amd64                     2.24.10-1                       pixbuf-based theme for GTK+ 2.x
ii  gtk3-engines-unico                            1.0.1-1                         Unico Gtk+ 3 theme engine
ii  libenchant1c2a                                1.6.0-7                         Wrapper library for various spell checker engines (runtime libs) # <<and this neither

In SID there is Gnome 3.4 and the Mint x theme isn't compatible.
Try with this: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... 2a0a33b927
