Nvidia GT 240

Postby Kolin on Sat Apr 28, 2012 2:45 am

When I install Linux Mint 12, there is blank monitor, or white squares. I chose "vga=771" in the boot menu, but the problem stayed. Please, help. On my laptop its works, I think the problem is in my videocard Nvidia GT 240.
Fedora 16 boots great, by I love Linux Mint.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

add "nomodeset" in boot option
after install LM 12, if you still have same problem, add "nomodeset" in Grub option, booting to desktop, install additional driver, and try booting normaly ( with nomodeset remove from Grub option )

Hold "shift" key while booting if you are not dual booting to see GRUB menu
press "e" to edit
add line nomodeset before line quite splash.
