Any clues on the LiveCD?

Post by ArgentSilver »

So I have a Gateway MX 6958 laptop on which is installed Kubuntu Gutsy, which runs well. I thought to try Mint 4 on it, so naturally I tried to run the live cd. To my surprise, I can't get the live cd to run, even with trying all the safe video mode, noapic, noacpi etc. suggestions. It boots all the way up to the Gnome desktop and then goes black, the CD drive spins down and that's it! Does that symptom suggest anything? Seems like it's so close to working, but I can't get it to run...

Did you burn the cd slow and check the md5sum?

A possibility,
