Using LMDE201204RC and loving it. Since the release of the Stable version, I have been looking through the Forums to see whether I need to do anything to bring the RC version up to date with the Stable version, without success.
So, will someone please tell me. Do I need to install the Stable version to have an up to date version, or will there be updates for the RC version which will bring my present installation up to Stable?

See the second comment on this blog post: http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=1967. There may be some differences between the installer images, but the RC updates automatically to the final release ... and beyond, this is a rolling release after all
The one important difference is that the RC installs with your sources.list pointing to incoming rather than latest repositories. Meaning, you get the update packs earlier, before they have gone through the community testing cycle. See here http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=198&t=99319. If you don't want that, see in the LMDE FAQ how to correct it, http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=91405. The final release installed with sources.list pointing to latest.

Thank you for a quick reply.
I have read the posts you recommended and have opted for the conservative approach. Only hope that the updates aren't as delayed as they were between 3 and 4.
