Drag to select area white

Postby nkk on Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:16 pm

Hi,
So this is happening to me:
Image
I went a bit crazy with the covering of private info--please excuse that mess.

Notice that the area I dragged my mouse over to select is a nontransparent color (white, to be exact).

How do I fix this? I am completely lost.

Thanks
nkk

PS Sorry if this is not actually a Cinnamon issue. I was a bit unsure what would cause this.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Did you try with another cinnamon theme?
It looks to me like a theme problem.
Sorry, I only speak Spanish

I have tried 3 themes, one of which was the default named Cinnamon. They all do the same thing.

Thanks,

Hello,

I also believe this is a theme issue. Your themes must be in the /usr/share/themes folder and I assume your themes are in the /home/your-username-here/.themes folder. Step by step instructions below in case you need them.

1. Open 'Terminal'.
2. Type gsku nautilus
3. Once the nautilus window appears, press Ctrl+L, and then type /home/your-username-here/.themes
4. Copy all of your themes and then, in the same window, navigate to /usr/share/themes and paste them there.
5. Open 'Cinnamon Settings' to make sure you have duplicate themes.
6. If you do, you can delete the themes out of your /home/your-username-here/.themes folder.

Hope that works for you!

You, my friend. are my hero. This was annoying me to no end, and I did not even think that there would be two theme folders.

Thanks
