HELP requested with wierd LMDE installation problem

I cannot run as a LIVE USB nor can I install the latest respin "201204 mate cinnamon" on my DEll laptop.

I get a b-43phy0 error. Even when the laptop is "ethernet -wired".

My cries for help have gone unreplied.

Something is obviously very different in the installers.

BUT,

I can successfully run as a LIVE USB and install the previous respin 201101....

Can somebody please navigate me through "how to "install LMDE beginning with the 2011 respin, and eventually winding up with the 201204?

Are you using a live DVD literally.. I mean have you tried with a pen too?
If you install the last version that ran and simply update it you should be good to go?

I need to correct my original post in that Yes, it is from a LIVE USB device....the old LMDE 201101 (aka LMDE flavored as Mint 10) works fine as a Live USB, but the new release 201204 has the BUG b-43phy0.

I have found that the new version has errors and I can not install it from usb on 5 machines after i downloaded the iso 3 times and onto 2 different usbs. I just installed it via dvd and it works fine. If you can install that last version do it then just update it, that will give you the latest version.
