Default action for folders is Archive Manager

Postby embolalia on Sat May 05, 2012 1:07 pm

I've found, for some reason, that whenever I attempt to open a folder from anywhere but Nautilus or the desktop, it will open Archive Manager (and AM will subsequently complain that it can't open the archive, since obviously the folder is not an archive). For examples, if I RMB->Open containing folder in Firefox's download window, or when I plug in an external hard drive, or use any of the bookmarks from the "Better Places" applet. I'm guessing this is a setting somewhere (which I nor Duck Duck Go can find) that sets the default application with which to open folders.

Any thoughts?

You should be able to change the default file association type..

--for particular file types, make the association you need to use, or maybe set a default as nautilus or a text editor, which won't try to extract or otherwise organize the file contents..
