(SOLVED) KDE on LMDE

Post by colyn »

I just installed LMDE onto one of my machines but now want to install KDE. Since KDE won't install from the current repos in LMDE what repo will I need to add?

For those that don't know LMDE does not work with ppa's so it would need to be a repo..

Colyn, kde installs in lmde, you have to remove mate notification daemon because conflicts with kde-workspace-bin and fails.
i was puzzled with that error also, because it did not show up in the rc (but then the rc didn't have mate bundled in), with the stable you will have that conflict.

So far it is working fine.

I installed KDE-full but was wondering if I decide to install LMDE with KDE onto my primary computer what are the options in addition to kde-full and what advantage would one have over the other? I don't need all of what is installed with kde-full so I doubt I will install on my primary computer..
