USB install halts on Acer W500

Hi, I'm trying to install Mint 12 on an Acer Iconia Tab W500 using a USB stick, but it halts after "syslinux" first message (version #, etc.) still in text mode.
I've read someone has already installed Mint 12 on this tablet, any clue how work it around? Thank you very much. By the way, exactly the same problem with Ubuntu.

format the USB and retry. Firt try in a normal desktop. When successful, try on tablet.
I have installed it. But my touchscreen hangs after 5-10 min mintLinux-13.
with it, sometime keyboard/mouse all hangs, only curser moves.
Do you have such problem? any answer?
