Can't Retrieve Updates In New KDE

Post by pvossen »

I have used kubuntu, ubuntu, cassandra, celena and darnya on gnome side.
This is my first try with the community edition of kde. I like the use and feel, and
have internet and other goodies running. However, I have not been able to enable
updates through adept or mint update. It freezes in Mintupdate, and in adept just
says it can't retrieve updates. I can download things from the repositories though
through adept, just can't update. I could use any help possible with this issue.

When I try to do an apt update it just freezes at 99% at the medibuntu.org line in the sources
download in konsole. That is the farthest, but it is the last line or so for repository in my
sources list. It has a problem there. I have reinstalled the KDE community and double checked
the sources list. I can't seem to find a problem currently.

I finally commented out the medibuntu repository and the mintupdates went
without a hitch. I don't know what is wrong with my sources list for that repository,
but it would run to 99% then just freeze.

If anyone knows what the line is for the medibuntu line or repository that would
work correctly let me know.

It could be medibuntu's repo that is causing the problem.
deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ gutsy free non-free
is mine and it is working for me.
