BETA 044 should be released this week.

I don't think I am the only one who REALLY is looking forward to download this beta....

I think everyone should absolutely positively *refrain* from quoting release dates on this project. Let's just all be surprised if and when a release happens. Quoting dates has only served to disappoint thus far...

Kde ce will come - when it's ready. OK, it's a bit late, but better late and good than soon and bad... I trust them to release a stable, rock solid mint kde...

I think it was only a week or two ago that the KDE CE 044 was released, but if you're like me, and visit this forum 80 times a day, a week seams like an eternity.

Guys, I'm pretty sure the stable release will be a few clicks away from within the latest beta whenever it's released. If you're using the beta, according to Boo, it was only a couple of minor bugs away form going gold. I'm sure when the final update is released, the changes will be hardly noticeable. This beta cooks, baby. I'm calling it done! Anybody up for a release party???

I'm loving the beta also! The only problem I have is, after a fresh install, when I upgrade the packages it tells me to I lose my Volume on-screen-display. My laptop volume buttons still change the volume, but the graphical volume display no longer appears. If anyone knows how to get it back, that would be great!

Folks, say what you will, but for us (users) to expect an update on development is not unfair.

I am holding out for KDE 4.1 in July so that I can try openSUSE 11 (or a subsequent update to version 11) on LiveCD. I don't want to install over Mint, just play with the new KDE interface in Live mode until a new Mint KDE 4.x version is released.

Until then, I just want a rock-solid KDE 3.5.x distro to use as my main OS. I am quite content to continue to use Windows XP 64-bit as my main OS for now, but the new Mint KDE release is my goal for turnover from Windows to Linux -- full time.

I will gladly donate to the program here at Linux Mint, as I believe whole heartedly in what you all are doing. I simply ask that you take a spare moment and give us all an update.

Any developer response would be greatly appreciated.

well I have uploaded Daryna stable.
there are only 2 changes.
I put in the USB ntfs fix for hal. found here: viewtopic.php?f=109&t=8993
changed some compiz defaults to make it more KDEish and fix known bugs.

so there is no need to download/reinstall the stable edition if you have already installed beta 44.
this may be good news for some and bad for others.

there were not many repeatable/valid bugs reported.
but most were general linux/ubuntu bugs that could not be fixed easily or in a timely manner.
I have wasted enough time looking into fixes and i know you all want the stable out.

some bugs have already been fixed in the next ubuntu so mint kde 5 already looks even better.
time for me to start looking into improvements for mint kde 5.
