Username clickable at login screen

How do you display the username at the login screen? Moved to Debian over from Mint12 x64. The speed is amazing on this version but expect the wife saying "its changed" so if / how do you enable the username to be selectable at the login screen?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Depends on what Display Manager you use:
If you use GDM you have to edit the file /etc/gdm3/greeter.gconf-defaults
And add the line or just take away the hash:
Code: Select all
/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list      false

and as root
Code: Select all
dpkg-reconfigure gdm3

http://wiki.debian.org/GDM

MDM has the file /etc/mdm/mdm.conf
My Linux history: Ubuntu 10.04 - 10.10 - LMDE 201109 - UP4 My sources.list/preferences

Computers is not science. And it's not magic - it's something in between.
