Howdy All:
Below is an intro from a posting I made while very frustated with Mint. It had to do with getting gl-117 to work, turned out to be a simple problem.
"I am using Kubuntu 11.10 on my current machine, setteled on KDE after trying several Distros. At the time I did not know about Mint. I really like it and have been wanting to try it on another rig.
I am trying to setup an older computor for my friend and his pre-school daughter. The computor is a Dell Dimension 4300 that I have used and upgraded since new. It's current configuration is as follows.
2.8Ghz Northwood Cpu, 1Ghz of Ram, 40 Gig IDE drive, Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 Vidio card, Broadcom BCM4306 wireless card, Lite-on LNE100TX Ethernet card, and a VIA USB 2.0 and Sata controller card."
I have been setting up the above computor as an educational and gaming machine for my friend and his daughter, he currently has nothing. After trying several versions I settled on Isadora. I wanted to have the LTS that comes with this version. I also very much like the look and feel of this one.
Because the computor is so old GNOME 3 did not seem to be an option. Any ways, I finally got it were I want it, and am totaly in love with Mint. It looks and feels princess!
If I can figure out how to seperate my home folder from my KDE install I may be going to Mint on my machine.
I want to thank the developers for an awesome distro, Kudos. I be luv'n on Linux Mint.
Later
Robert
