Window snapping in LMDE 201204

Postby MicroMina on Fri May 11, 2012 1:38 am

Hello all,

I am trying to get window snapping to work on LMDE 201204 (where I can drag a window to left, right or top to resize it)
I have no idea what I should do. I tried enabling it in the compizconfig but nothing happened.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello :)
what DE are you using? gnome-shell and cinnamon have snapping natively built-in, in mate you have to look around the compiz settings.
but it would help if you tell us what DE you are using.

i never used the aero-snapping plugging with compiz on gnome2 days (even less with mate);
unless someone else comes along and gives you useful tips, the best i can do is: search google for "compiz aero snap plugin" ( i don't know how much of that can be easily translated to mate :roll:

Thanks for your reply!
There seems to be a similar plugin called grid in compiz that uses key bindings to do this. I set it up but it is not responding the bindings when I press them. Any idea what could be wrong?
