how to open HTML.doc and epub.doc in LMDE

Postby mali radnik on Tue May 08, 2012 4:57 am

I keep in my Home folder some web pages I saved. I cannot open and read them with LMDE, while there are no problems with Mint 11. In order to access these documents and to open them, LMDE apparently requires some sort of registration (Access wizard). Also, I was able to open epub.doc with Achives manager in Mint 11 (it was not even necessary to use Calibri, which I also installed), but it does not work with LMDE. It's the same problem as with html, it requires some registration. I haven't installed LMDE yet, I run it from a DVD. Could you suggest me what to do?

I have found the solution. Instead of trying to open my documents in .html format with Mozilla Thunderbird Mail/News, which was given as default, I opened it easily with simple Firefox Web Browser. I forgot to check the option 'Open with'. Sorry! It's all fine now.
