wireless 3G USB modem dongle connecting but no data flow

Postby globareach on Wed May 16, 2012 9:50 am

my huwaei usb wireless modem is recognized by mint 12 and installed automatically. it was configured for MTN internet service in Nigeria after entering the necessary info like APN etc. i chose in the network setting "connect automatically". Now when i finished the settings, the modem connected as it is obvious from the connection established indicator light and the pop-up info on the network connection icon. the problem now is i tried openning firefox to browse but nothing is happenning, no data is downloaded. i have enough internet air time paid for and the same modem is function when taken to MSwindows .
Please what am i not doing right in linuxmint 12.
