hey.
I have an error I cannot reproduce, but happens almost every session at some point. system just immediately freezes and only cold restart with power button pressing is possible. I had this while adjusting volume, while typing email, doing update - just randomly. First I thought I forgot swap, but even with this, it still happens. any ideas? computer is a very old Fujitsu c-series Lifebook pentium 4 - this old lady has only 512ram and mint just gave it a new life.. and the owner loves linux, her first linux experience ever, and the old machine flies... and crashes.. help please - thanks in advance

You may want to try...
a even lighter distro (puppy, core,AntiX ect.) I found and like using Swift Linux.
It's based on LMDE and will updated with the Lmint UP Update pack). Will be alot lighter (default ICEWM), and I Even put LXDE or XFCE ( about 20% lighter memory load). And add and delete (using synaptic or LMint software manager) apps desired Uses Mint repos by default (+ a few others)

What about RAM integrity?
Test it with memtest86+ Live CD: download the .iso from http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/me ... .20.iso.gz , burn it with Brasero or another CD burner (in a secure PC), boot from CD...
Good luck!!!
