I'm trying out LMDE until Mint 12 comes out (or possibly longer, depending on what messes Ubuntu makes this time). One problem I'm having is that every time I print, the job goes through fine, but after it's done printing, the printer icon stays on the panel. When I click on it to open the print queue, it still shows the job, like this:
Job Document Printer Size Time submitted Status
36 Untitled1 Epson-Workforce-610 463k 9 hours ago Processing
I've tried hitting Cancel and Delete, and neither works. It will stay there until I restart the computer. I haven't tried printing multiple documents (I'll try that later -- LMDE has a load of problems that I'm trying to sort out, so this isn't the highest on my priority list), but I'm wondering if this problem will prevent other print jobs from going through.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Did anyone ever provide you with an answer on this? For the love of ____, I've been having the same problem and even rebooting doesn't clear the queue. It will restart on reboot.

Re: Print Queue Doesn't Clear
I know almost nothing about printing setup/problems on Linux, but I am curious if an 'lprm' command at the console would be any different than using the GUI?
There is nothing more dangerous than a bored cat.

@pertersk
Have you tried opening up CUPS and checking on the jobs, sounds like one has failed and is stuck
Open firefox and type in localhost:631 which will open up CUPS, then select your printer, have a look at the 'all jobs' then if required delete using the maintenance menu.

Yes, I've gotten on the CUPs page like that and killed all jobs on that printer.
It somehow zombies and stays.

Re: Print Queue Doesn't Clear
This was exactly what I needed, too, thanks. (Mint 15 and a Canon D420.) The print queue shows nothing in it, both through the Printers control center and the CUPS status report, but clearing all active jobs does the trick. Something gets clogged up in the background.rich2005 wrote:@pertersk
