Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon
Re: Gnome 3 Shell Edition
That doesn't appear to be happening. One, Gnome Shell isn't very popular around here. Two, the only thing that made Gnome Shell sane to a lot of us was MGSE, which has been replaced with Cinnamon.caf4926 wrote:I'd actually like to see a Gnome 3 shell edition
However, that isn't to say that you can't still get Gnome Shell on Mint. But, you may have to install it yourself.
Re: Gnome 3 Shell Edition
Yes, MGSE has been dropped in favour of Cinnamon. But if you enjoy pure Gnome Shell, just install the gnome-shell package and you are ready to go.
Just to share an alternative, Clem has just added a tutorial on how to respin your own Linux Mint edition (http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/918). So anybody with a bit of know-how could make a pure Gnome Shell respin of Linux Mint
