[SOLVED] stop x server mint 13

can someone tell me how to stop the x server in mint 13 cinnamon

i normally do this

sudo service lightdm stop

now i get unrecognized service.

any suggestions

Please read the release notes when you install a new version. mint 13 uses MDM not lightdm.
