Is it true? LMDE on Ipad?

Post by limotux »

Hi,
Checking for compatible hardware, I found http://community.linuxmint.com/hardware/search
It says that LMDE works perfectly on Ipad 3g!

Is it true? Anybody did? What about latest Ipads or Samsung galaxy tabs?
I think if I can get LMDE on such a tablet it would be heavens to me.
Any ideas?

You cannot install LMDE on ipad, compatible hardware meaning if you connected ipad on LMDE, LMDE will recognized it without problem :)

Thanks mank_in
I thought it was in the same conext as compatible laptops or desktops.
Though I wish to see an LMDE release that can be installed on... Galaxy Tab 2
I wonder if it is possible!
I would love to see my favourite distro on a tablet like galaxy tab or ipad
LMDE is the future to linux and tablets as above are the future to hardware I think.
Anybody care to discuss or comment?

There are Linux tablets available. Current ones are pricey (based on desktop hardware), but affordable ones are nearly here.

The current desktop GUI of MATE, Cinnamon & Xfce are not really suitable for a touchscreen tablet. Standard computer operating systems are difficult to use on a tablet without a custom touchscreen friendly GUI. Ubuntu's Unity and KDE's Plasma are being developed for use with touchscreen devices (the Spark uses Plasma).
