Does PlayOnLinux use DirectX directly?
I've just installed PlayOnLInux and I see there's option to install directx. Now it's showing directx_Jun2010_redist.exe is being downloaded. Does it not emulate the functionality of DirectX itself? Then if I already have the particular directx to use, can I install it manually using Wine or PlayOnLinux themselves rather than having to download it again from the PlayOnLinux install menu?

This is why Linux Mint isn't going to turn anymore heads... the support forums are severely lacking as compared to Ubuntu forums.
