I've just installed Linux Mint 13, and I want to install some themes. I've tried by putting the theme in /usr/share/themes but I can't change the theme of the window, it only changes me my bar and the icons. I tried by this method: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/10/how- ... untu-11-10
But when I go to the advanced settings, my GNOME-Shell Extensions section is in blank and in the Theme section, I got a orange triangle in Shell Theme...
Can somebody help me?
P.S. Aplogize my horrible english :/

Re: How do I install themes in Linux Mint 13?
Wait. Are you using MATE or Cinnamon? In Cinnamon, you just go to Cinnamon Settings->Themes and click "Add". For MATE, I wouldn't know, but it's probably something similar to Gnome 2 (and can probably be done though GUI). I think Ubuntu tutorials no longer apply since the desktop environment is different.
You can also check here: http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/themes All themes have installation instructions.

Re: How do I install themes in Linux Mint 13?
veggen, have you even tried Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon?
I Dont see any "Cinnamon Settings->Themes and click "Add"" ADD Button anywhere, sure it lets you change Cinnamon themes which is basically just the task bar and the Start Menu, but doesnt have any add button for Window Theme, Icons, GTK+ Theme, which is a total bummer. I had more luck installing themes using the Terminal, the copy to themes folder didnt work very well, I opened the folder as Adman copied the themes and it wouldnt recognize them. it kept an x on the theme folders I copied.
And im still using Ubuntu tutorials, so please bro, do some research or at least use Cinnimon before giving advice about it, because some of us noobs can get really confused by reading null advice..

Re: How do I install themes in Linux Mint 13?
I installed, malys - uniSEX Theme, and AwOken Icons using the Terminal.
uniSEX Theme instructions included!
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... ent=149602
AwOken Icons Instructions Included!
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... ent=126344
Then in the Cinnimon Settings I clicked on Themes then Other Settings, and changed the Window and GTK+ theme to malys - uniSEX, then Icons to AwOkenDark, and it looks great, you can choose from light and dark acording to your preference.
Or look around for other themes and instructions, its kinda confusing at first but once you do it a few times it gets much easier, I just wish they had it as easy as KDE when it comes down to Themes in Linux Mint 13 C.

This guide still applies to Mint 13 Cinnamon: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=86813 - shows how to install icons and window themes and where best to find them. I should probably start getting a Mint 13 guide together.MR-X wrote:veggen, have you even tried Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon?
