frozen apt get install in terminal

while working in the Terminal and doing a

#sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin


while the install code did its thing, there were a series of full window images in terminal that were messages that could just as well have come across as text questions with optional answers. there is an image in the terminal at this time and it is the last one, where the whole situation is now frozen. The image does have one 1 response answer like prompt in text and that is the word ' ok ', and is not written as 'okay'. and is not a link to code.
i pressed the enter key , no response. command with enter key, no response. command l, ell like lion, lucy, luck, loose to get back to a command line, no response. seems to be frozen, dried crispy in the Arctic sun.

question: what are the options to de ice the terminal window.

i did look at top, i did not see anything in there that would indicate a term window was frozen. or any download in process was in zombie state.
i just do not know what to shake and rattle.

what can i do.

and then.
i forgot about the w option up to now.

after i was able to exit out of the term window in the account where it was frozen.
i did go into synaptic to see if there was any indication of the status of the phpmyadmin install in synaptic. as usual i could not access synaptic in another account outside of the root account.
i did log into the root account, admin account or whatever a person would like to name the first account at OS install and set up.
after logging into the first account.
i did go into synaptic to see what the status of the phpmyadmin install was.
after clicking the synaptic icon i did receive a pop up window message.
basically this:

i did do that and the previous image as indicated in first post, in term came back to life.

with zero indication of any thing, but the word 'ok'. i did proceed to press keys as indicated in the previous post.
finally i did press cmd with arrow keys. learn the buffer some how.

after this experience.
i did not enter a password of 'yes' for mysql.
something in the code ?.

after this situation. i exited out of term and re launched the gui synaptic and it came up this time without the pop up window to manually ...
i did a search of phpmyadmin and it came up as installed.
while phpadmin was in the right hand pane and highlighted, i click on reload, no results to indicate anything.
lower left pane status, does not indicate anything.
edit/fix broken packages, does not show anything.

at this point and at my skill level i do not know if this is a bug or what.

later on this day i will resume the procedures in the tutorial and see if phpmyadmin is alive and well, while i would not use phpmyadmin as a base of mysql or php. it is just another tool, used when actually needed.
