Desktop spec

Could people who are sucessfully running Linux Mint (any edition) post their computer specs on here?

It will give new users an idea of what hardware is tried tested and working if they are looking at buying new hardware.

...and my new hardware (Intel i5-2500K with H67 support chipset) is included in that compilation. :D

Why Thank you! I have added myself to the list! (core i5 3.5 Ghz - 8Gb RAM - 1Gb AMD Radeon GDDR5 - 1 Tb SATA)

Unfortunately my graphics card is not working with Maya, and the third party drivers wont install. So no decent graphics and no sound!

Other than that mine works fine :D

Sorry about the AMD card they have not been too good with linux lately. But read and article saying they would be doing more linux support soon.
hope that's true.
as for the sound that may be fixable.

It comes through with my graphics card as it's a desktop. so i have no idea!

if you can go to a terminal and type the following command and list the output here I can find it for you
and maybe get it going

Dont worry sound and graphics are now fixed. I was lucky enough to have the drivers for my card on the AMD website so all is well and good http://forums.linuxmint.com/posting.php ... 0&t=104566#

So now i cant add my spec because my system is running very smooth.

intel core i5 3.00Ghz - 8Gb DDR3 RAM - 1Gb GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD6770 - 1Tb 7500 SATA

*not I am looking to upgrade HDD to a seagate momentus XT
