- Cinnamon settings from administration - hide panel - no result, panel still visible
- gconf-editor - desktop - gnome - session - required_components - there is no that menu
- apps - panel - bottom_panel_screen - and checking checkbox and rest setting and no results
- usr/share/cinnamon/theme - cinnamon.css - I tryed edit - no results
so can somebody help me ? is there any other solution???

Re: Problem with panel in cinnamon
I think you've tried this but go to Cinnamon settings >panel> check autohide, Then you have to log out and back in for it to take affect.

May it be the same problem, I can't change theme, nothing happened, even after restart... Should I remove and reinstall cinnamon, or something???

Re: Problem with panel in cinnamon
I have got the same problem after installing Cinnamon 13 on my old PC. Tried changing session to GNOME but either this didn't help. Themes and panel configuration is not taking any effect.
Can anyone advise me what to do?

Re: Problem with panel in cinnamon
Are you sure that you're running Cinnamon?
Please go to Cinnamon Settings - Themes - Other settings and choose another gtk theme. If the panel changes according to the theme, you're running GNOME Classic, maybe because your machine doesn't have 3D acceleration, or a driver is missing.

Re: Problem with panel in cinnamon
First of all, please allow me to apologise for resurrecting such an old topic, but I've seen this Cinnamon panel auto-hide problem/bug crop up a few times and in all cases I've found that it was because the "panel edit mode" was switched to ON. For some reason that I've been unable to determine as yet, when this function is switched on, the auto-hide is either deliberately disabled, or not working due to some possible bug.
It's an easy enough fix though - right-click on the panel and make sure that Panel Edit Mode is OFF (ie. not highlighted) and then your panel should auto-hide perfectly. Note that this can be used as a quick and easy method of toggling auto-hide on and off without having to go into the panel settings...
Whether or not this is a bug or a deliberate feature, I don't know - maybe one of the developers could throw some light on this.

Re: Problem with panel in cinnamon
I have noticed that too--when Panel Edit Mode is On, the Panel will not auto-hide (and my little icons for Firefox, Thunderbird, etc. don't work) and when Panel Edit Mode is off, it does auto-hide. (Not sure it's a bug; if you're editing your panel, you don't necessarily want it disappearing.)
