Anyone know a good, and free Linux admin course
(i want to know more about the boot process ... the .d .. directories and which ones run at which time.. how to turn them on and off.. how to stop the auto reload, of things like networking...
i've tried reading the basic help located in the directories but it's not quite sinking in...
also i want to do a little work on the domain blocker program... want to add some features, haven't had the time to learn python... but i should have some time soon.. )
Thanx.....

Any Linux-specific book printed in the last 10 years would have some summary chapters dealing with these subjects.

Or you can try The Debian Administrator's Handbook, for example, here's the chapter about the boot process.
