I really like it. Good colors (I little Vista style but I like it).
I propose to be the default background for Bianca.

Another Bianca set

Postby carlos on Thu Feb 08, 2007 6:59 pm

Thanks guys and thank you Clem! I didn't expect you to include those wallpapers, thats awesome!

Well I had a good chance to play with the newest version of inkscape and my; oh my; what an improvement. I think by the time they hit version 1.0 they will be the vector program to beat.

Anyway this is the results of my playing around another set of bianca wallpapers.
They are sized to 1024px and they are using my new version of the logo.

UPDATE

Ok found a great service called box.net anyway I was able to upload the new set of wallpapers. With the latest logo. the sizes are 1024x768, 1280x960, 1280x800 for wide screen laptops.

I think it's better to have both :)
Carlos: They're awesome!! I'm seriously thinking of your work when thinking of a default look for Linux Mint 3.0.

@ Clem that is probably, the nicest complement I've ever gotten. Thanks!

@Jes what is the screen resolution that you need?

I'm trying to find a free image host that can host svg files so hopefully I'll get the higher quality images up sooner then later.

Carlos,

I really like your work and your wallpapers. Have the same problem than Jes.
Two laptops with 1280 x 800 resolution and impossible to have benefit of your proposal. Can you do it, including the "official" logo?

I agree with Clem. I personally think you can give Mint's image something much more professional and a real visual and modern identity.
Bravo!

@AlsaPhil, @Jes check my previous post, I added a link to http://www.box.net/public/elaee2m6ae You should be able to find the wide screen size that you need with the true logo. Also with other Hi res versions. Last to do is load up the svg.

@Tiptup300 if you get a chance and see this do you think its possible to get a version of the logo in svg? If not I can try to recreate it. Right now I'm using the png file which isn't very good when you need to resize.

Thanks again guys for the feedback.

Carlos,

Thanks for the link :)
You have to think about the position of the bottom menu. The logo and the text are hidden by the menu, that is not so nice
May be you can push the logo and text a little bit higher without disturbing the ambient of the picture...

Hey there AlsaPhil,

Try the file below and let me know if it works. Fortunately I have a dual monitor setup, so my bottom menu is actually on the top of my 2nd monitor. I didn't even realize that it would be an issue. I extended the bottom portion of the wallpaper, try this out and let me know if it works. If so, I'll make additional images, otherwise I will extend it a bit more.

@Jes I haven't had the opportunity yet to resize the images to your res, will do it today.

Hi Carlos,

Now the position of the text is ok... but it is fuzzy...
May be it is not the good resolution (1280x800)
But we are on the good way

PS- I was really happy for you after reading the last newsletter by Clem :D

Jes you will see now that I've uploaded new versions to your size res Also I made sure they all have space for the bottom menu.

So the sizes are 1024x768, 1280x800, 1280x960, 1280x1024

@AlsaPhil I didn't know what you were talking about, I just saw the newsletter after I read your comment. Wow!

Clem, I really don't know what to say, I'm truly humbled by your kind words. Thank you so much for the nod. I really wasn't expecting that.

there are a lot of "zen" themes.
Personally I don't like this theme. I want to see something different, like: nature.
