Mint 13 KDE - OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice?

Post by abnvolk »

Just curious, will Mint 13 KDE be based on Ubuntu or Kubuntu?
And the Kubuntu website says that the distro has OpenOffice.org installed by default. Will Mint KDE has OpenOffice.org?

It'll just be LibreOffice of course. Where did you see that Kubuntu would use OpenOffice? Perhaps that page was about an old version of Kubuntu. Both Ubuntu and Kubuntu just use LibreOffice as far as I know.

I visit kubuntu.org and see take the feature tour. They say that it has OpenOffice.org, and there are images of OpenOffice.org.
Complete and professional office suite
Create professional documents, spreadsheets and presentations with OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org is compatible with all office applications including Microsoft Office. The big difference is that OpenOffice.org is free (and promises never to introduce Mr. Clippy).

The info is probably outdated. The Mint KDE edition will keep using LibreOffice like it used to do.

Oops, my fault. Kubuntu comes with LibreOffice :D
But I'm surprised because such a big distro like Kubuntu left the website unmaintained. :o

Me too. Maybe the webmaster think OO.o or LO is not such a big difference.

The testing team rejected Mint 13 KDE last week - some problems still need to be fixed before it gets released.
