I am using LMDE xfce (testing) on my Asus EEE 1015. This morning on booting up, the windows for Firefox and Terminal were both stuck in the upper left corner of my screen with the maximize buttons unreachable. I couldn't drag either window, and it was quite difficult to diagnose anything without resizing Terminal. I suspect it must be an update problem.
Any suggestions for diagnosing or fixing this would be much appreciated.

I'm still curious what the cause was, though. If not a bad update, the only thing I could think of is possibly a browser virus. In my last login before the problem, I was looking at prices for gold, which seems the sort of topic that might bring up some malicious webpages trying to phish for credit card numbers and online account information for those wishing to buy gold online.
Whatever the case, the windows now function normally.
