Can i downgrade to vlc 1.1.11?
What repositories I have to use to come back to vlc 1.1.11 and delete 2.0.0. Is there some "archive" repositories for LMDE so I'll be able to install some old stuff easy? (with all dependences automatically!)

Re: Repositories
Don't have LMDE on computer at moment
BUT
using synaptic (probally in sowftware-manager also, somehow)
1.find vlc and uninstall (compleatly )
2. re-highlight vlc right click to properties
3.on version tab highlight one wanted (if in repos still)
4. install
5.(while vlc still higlighted) goto package menu (of synaptic) and tick lock version
Shouldn,t update to newer version If not version wanted in repo will need to find on web (ect) and install with gdebi (ect) and then pin (lock) version

Re: Can i downgrade to vlc 1.1.11?
sorry jjay my fault
i moved the topic here and gave it a new name and its own place because it's not the same subject as the topic where Aalexeey putted it first (easier this way)

jjay
There are not older versions available, any other suggestions always welcome! Is there some older/archived repositories for LMDE? The reason I'm not advanced user, so I'm looking for simple way to install it almost itself

Re: Can i downgrade to vlc 1.1.11?
Thank for moving ZZERO (wonder what happened)
Aalexeey (spelled right?)
Don't forget to pin (lock version) in synaptic. Will need to reload sources to show installed in synaptic. Otherwise will upgrade next time you do!
Hope Helps

Edit Make sure get debian package in download.

You can find that package (version) on the web. Then install with Gdebi. There are not older versions available, any other suggestions always welcome! Is there some older/archived repositories for LMDE? The reason I'm not advanced user, so I'm looking for simple way to install it almost itself

Re: Can i downgrade to vlc 1.1.11?
Why would you want to downgrade it?
VLC 2.0.2 has quite a few bug fixes. And works fine even on this ancient and dying laptop.
$ apt-cache policy vlc
vlc:
Installed: 1:2.0.2-dmo2
Candidate: 1:2.0.2-dmo2
Version table:
*** 1:2.0.2-dmo2 0
500 http://www.deb-multimedia.org/ sid/main i386 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Re: Can i downgrade to vlc 1.1.11?
Aalexeey,
i would ask the same craigevil did, why?
usually newer is better (ok not always) and vlc v.2.x is for the most part of the users a vast improvement. of course you should have a strong reason to downgrade it but:
- first there's no such thing as an easy downgrade (specially regarding vlc because of this>>as you can see vlc is an app that has a lot of dep, so either you downgrade everything (impossible i would say) or you end up breaking a lot of stuff.
- second: debian has http://snapshot.debian.org/ (it's almost what you are looking for) but i highly doubt that it will work with vlc)

zerozero
That's why I asked about old repository, so dependencies could be installed them-self. The older version I had installed on XP and it was very stable, consumed less memory and run faster. The main reason I'm running LMDE on this:
ASUS P2-99B (ZX) AT + Tualatin Award BIOS Patched
CPU: PIII-S 1400/133 + Abit SlotKET III FC-PGA2 Modified, 105/35 1100MHz
RAM: 512Mb 256 + 128 + 128 PC133
Video: AGP2x Point of View NV 5500 AGP 256Mb, 3.3V direct supply
2ndUSB1.0: USB Audio Speakers Altec
1stPCI: NEC Adapter 5xUSB2.0
2ndPCI: D-Link DFE-520TX Fast Ethernet Adapter VIA
3rdPCI: Gembird VIA VT6421 2+1xSATA1/1xIDE + "Memphis" Modified VT6421 RAID BIOS
All PCI's 3.3V direct supply
1stHDD: Seagate ST1000DL002 1Tb/5900RPM SATA0
2ndHDD: Seagate ST32000542AS 2Tb/5900RPM SATA1
CD/DVD: Sony DVD DDU1621/LG DVD RW MB ATA Secondary channel
1stUSB2.0: Web Camera Logitech
2ndUSB2.0: Printer/Scanner Samsung CLX-3185
PS/2: Mouse Genius
Power: Codegen ATX 300W
OS: Windows XP SP3 + grub24dos SATA0/Linux Mint Debian Edition Mate Desktop SATA1
Systems very stable and fast enough, but I keeping them fast!
