DCP7010 Scanner still fails after adjusting 60-libsane.rules

Post by Jacques »

Hi guys,

I small issue here.

My Brother scanner still doesn't get detected after making the below change to 60-libsane.rules file:

ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0182", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"

I tried working by this thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=5945 but no success and the Mint versions appear to be not compatible regarding this. I did add myself to the "scanner" group.

What is the correct method for this in LMDE?

Are you sure that your scanner has USB ID 04f9:0182 ? Please check this with lsusb. Have you installed Brother's driver for the scanner?
