Apparently, Metacity needs gnome to work, but I only have MATE, so practically nothing happens... This happens every time I login because I set KDM to automatic login. I don't know how to get out of this mess...Haha.................

KDM and Metacity
I got a Linux Mint 13 x64 with MATE installed. I used KDE for it and changed the DM to KDM. I also set it to login automatically to my account using the previous settings. I accidentally set it to Metacity which resulted in a black screen with a mouse pointer, so I had to reboot. Thing is, I'm still stuck at Metacity. I don't know how to get back to KDE...

Finally got out. I stopped kdm and then used dpkg-reconfigure kdm. I used the opportunity to switch to mdm and fired startx. Got out, changed my settings at kdm in case another disaster occurs.
