I just installed a new install on a laptop that is using an Intel 4965 wireless controller and I am having an odd issue that I haven't been able to get alot of information about from googling. I have installed firmware-iwlwifi and wireless-tools as well. The issue I am having is that when I put in my wireless password (that I know is correct) I get an authentication failure as if I did not put in the password. The router is using a WPA2 encryption with no MAC address filtering or anything like that.
I appreciate your time to answer this and apologize if I haven't given enough information.

I don't believe you need firmware-iwlwifi, since http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=18233 seems to indicate that it's included in the kernel since 2.6.23
