Hello everyone.
I'm having a problem with a mint4win install.
The install within windows (7, 64bit) completes ok, but on reboot I get the following:
Try (hd0,0): NTFS5: No wubildr
Try (hd0,1): NTFS5: error: "prefix" is not set.
error: no such device: /linuxmint/disks/root.disk.
error: no such device: /linuxmint/install/boot/grub/grub.cfg.
I have checked and the files referenced already exist in the proper locations in windows. I have run chkdisk and no errors were found.
Interestingly, if I try to install into a separate partition from the live cd (which I don't want to do) the installer doesn't see any other OS.
I've been three days on this with no success.
P.s. it worked fine both in mint4win installs and installed on a second internal HDD, until that HDD crashed and burned a few days ago.

I am also having a problem with trying to install mint4win.
I have mint installed on the first partition and windows 7 installed an a second partition.
I am trying to install mint4win with the windows partition. So when the computer boots I first get the grub menu and select Windows then I get the menu from windows and select Mint and get the following error. Maybe I can't do it the way I am trying to do it.
Try (hd0,0): EXT2:

Hey guys I have also had this problem. Take a look at this.
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/b ... :Wubi_9.10
But the "cause" section does not make sense it says something about GRUB2 but from a windows install GRUB should not even be used it should boot using windows boot loader.
If someone knows what is going on please explain.

Re: Mint4win error: no such device: /linuxmint/disks/root.di
I tried the above but it did not fix my problem.
Re: Mint4win error: no such device: /linuxmint/disks/root.di
I did not expect that solution to work as the description did not make sense.
Surely someone has some useful help to this problem.

I am having the exact same problem as the OP under the exact same circumstances.
Does anyone have an answer for this?

Just a thought: I have one Windows 7 64bit, where it C drive is on the partition /dev/sda5, so the right address for wubildr is (hd0,4) or (hd0,5) depending on grub.Jedibooney wrote: The install within windows (7, 64bit) completes ok, but on reboot I get the following:

Not sure if you are still having this problem(I have moved on and just done a clean install of Linux Mint) but I have a possible solution.
From what I understand the Linux installer does not cope well with Windows RAID signatures. Has the drive ever been used in a RAID. If so take a look at the bottom post of the below thread perhaps it may spark some sort of solution for you.
Good luck.
