Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
I'd suggest Nymph
or the names of a few nymphs:
Naiads
Napaeae
Nereids

Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
I'll remind everybody of the "rules": female name, starting with "N", ending in "a". Don't forget that last bit
Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
They're forgetting that every year... Anyway, many names can be translated to another language to end in "a".

Just kidding, I think Nina and Nenita sound good.

Natalia.
Nina is also nice, especially if we want to keep it short

Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
Ah... Just a thought: Should we have name suggestion topics in forums for other languages?
Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
My suggestion is Nala, character of the Lion King, see here
I also want to suggest some names of women scientists:
Nettie (Stevens) a woman genetist who was one of the first scientists to described the chromosomal basis of the sex. see here
Nina (Byers) a woman theoritical psysicist with many discriminations. see here
And last but not least the name "Nessie" which I believe is going to be the LM's 14 name. Everybody knows Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster! For more see here.
If I had to choose one name, I would choose the name Nessie or Nettie. They're both different as Linux Mint is.

Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
Names must end with "a", so I don't think Nessie would be selected...
Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
I know but why don't we make a change?
Re: Linux Mint 14: "N" Name suggestion list
I think because it's not necessary to make it
There are many beautiful names for Mint

Clem has announced "Nadia" to be the name for the Linux Mint 14 release. Congrats to those of you that picked the winning name
Announcement: http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2133Clem wrote:Linux Mint 14 will be named “Nadia” and should be available at the end of November 2012.
In Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars Trilogy, Nadezhda “Nadia” Chernyshevski is Maya’s best friend.
Nadia is pronounced NAH-d’-yah. It is the English form of Nadya, which itself is the pet form of Nadezhda and is Russian for “hope”. It’s also a variant of Nadiyya which, in Arabic, means “moist, tender, delicate”.
Linux Mint 14 “Nadia” will feature the following editions:
- Cinnamon
- MATE
- KDE
- Xfce
