hmm...never thought i would register the forum...anyway, just did it because i really need to ask this question out.
it seems to me that there isn't a single update for LMDE for quite some time. is this normal? at the meantime, my ubuntu desktop has got a lot of patches (just saying, i know LMDE is totally different from ubuntu).
by the way, i've read the thread in application & software section about why software isn't the latest in mint. however, i still think this 'no update' thing is a bit abnormal...

Re: no updates for LMDE for so long
Look at zerozero's comprehensive FAQ for LMDE here, http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=91405
In particular, read section 1.3 re: Update Packs.
Basically there are no updates in LMDE between UP releases. Searching "Update Pack" on the forum will also yield many similar questions/discussions.

Re: no updates for LMDE for so long
This might be a stupid question, but if wheezy receives updates from sid regularly, why don't we get them here? Is this down to the upstream change freeze (i.e. wheezy isn't getting updates from sid any more)
Re: no updates for LMDE for so long
chemicalfan, see the second post on this topic and the links squeezy has in there. read through that FAQ, specially the parts related to Updates Packs.
