Updating Kernel solved
Letsay I wanted to update to the most current stable release of the Linux kernel, how would I go around doing this, without reinstalling/updating to a new distro of Linux? Also, are there any serious repercussions of doing this, especially if it's just a minor version change?

Re: Updating Kernel
I don't recommend this unless you have a special problem to solve

Re: Updating Kernel
I think I'll give it a shot as soon as I back up all my stuff again.

So I updated my kernel using Husse's advise. It worked, and I doesn't erase the current kernel, it adds the new one to the boot option. The only trouble I've experienced with the new kernel is when I go
it likes to flash red across the screen a few seconds before it boots down.
Code: Select all
sudo shutdown -P now
