Need help getting Mint 13 session on new install (SOLVED)

Post by tadpole1954 »

I installed Mint 13 xfce on my 32bit Lenovo laptop. The install went well only when the desktop appeared after the restart, I had the classic xfce not the Mint 13 one. So, by the time I decided that that was not what I wanted, I had updated and played for awhile. Anyway, I reinstalled and I have the same result. Only this time I've noticed that I have a panel identical to what I had in the previous install.

So how do I go back to square one? I like the looks of the Mint desktop. Thanks in advance for any help!!

just a wild guess: are you installing preserving an old home from any previous install?

Yes I am. Ubuntu 12.04 is what I used previously.

would imagine so, xfce is going crazy with the gnome config files.
if you really need/want to use the old home in this install see this http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 92#p614792
