How to change the default terminal colors in Mint 13 Xfce ?

Post by Darksun1 »

Hi,

How to change the default colors ( blue and green ) of the terminal in Mint ?
In any terminal can customize the colors of text and background etc.., but these colors (green and blue of the system) are not customizable.

I looked in /etc/bash.bashrc but found nothing :(

Anyone have any idea how to change these default colors ?

I would like to use red instead of green and blue.

image that shows the colors I'm talking about

and sorry for my poor english, I don´t speak this language
thanks

You should have some menus on your terminal. Just check the Edit->profile Preferences menu. You will find a tab there named Colors where you find what you want.

If you check the section on "Colorization" in this article:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux ... ip-prompt/

that should tell you what you want to know. You should save this in a .bashrc file in your home directory.

For further fun, have a look at the thread on "what's in your bashrc" -- some creative ideas in there!
