Just ordered a new Thinkpad T61p from Lenovo Canada .
Anybody here running Mint on a Thinkpad or had any good experiences running Linux on it? I hear the graphics card (Quadro FX 570M) causes minor problems, but easily fixable.

Search for Thinkpad T61p in the forum - there are several examples of it working albeit in some cases after some twist as you say

Thanks, however I wasn't looking so much for references to relevant posts concerning problems (these have already been documented enough), but rather I was looking for some general chat of personal anecdotes concerning thinkpads. (assuming a couple people in the forums running mint own a thinkpad)

I got Linux Mint running on my Thinkpad T60 (pre-Lenovo brand). Debain-based distros seems to run very well on Thinkpads. SLED/openSUSE as well too.

Grr, still haven't received the Thinkpad, ordered Feb.28th. Lenovo must have the slowest and unorganized [Canadian] shipping on the planet. 
. Over a month wait and my laptop is either still in the Canadian warehouse or lost in transit, i haven't exactly been getting straight answers. The shipping horror stories came true.
