It's a nice review. Just one comment: make sure to check the latest mintDisk to mount your windows partitions and mintdesktop (1.2 I believe) which "mounts" your network neighbourhood / "windows workgroups" in your Home/Network folder.
The fact that you have to go and edit /etc/fstab is simply unacceptable
(ah.. I'm only kidding of course)
