I wish to make LMDE Debain squeeze myself. I found two tutorials here:
1- http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/497
and
2- http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/197
Inform which one would result in a better OS, both nearer to Debian squeeze stabilty and near to the traditional good looks of Linux Mint? (I love the way how Linux Mint looks, fresh like mint, good fonts etc.) Also I would wish to back up after putting my efforts into creating a good LMDE Debian squeeze OS and would like to back it up like creating an ISO of it so I could have the created LMDE Debian squeeze at hand whenever I wish to use it again. So kindly help me in this effort.

Re: Making LMDE Debian squeeze?
Both seem to be abandoned by their authors. In addition, the second one requires extra work (since the base is Debian, not LMDE) and covers a number of year-old issues which are most probably solved by now.intelamd wrote:I wish to make LMDE Debain squeeze myself. I found two tutorials here:

If you still want it, I suggest using the first tutorial and reading my corrections to it. Feel free to ask any questions in that thread - it's made for that
There's a tutorial for that: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/918intelamd wrote:Also I would wish to back up after putting my efforts into creating a good LMDE Debian squeeze OS and would like to back it up like creating an ISO of it so I could have the created LMDE Debian squeeze at hand whenever I wish to use it again.
I haven't tried it though.

Re: Making LMDE Debian squeeze?
Thanks Monsta and seppalta for your support. I am very determined to create an ISO for Linux Mint Debian Squeeze and I would need your help to create this for sometime. I hope that you would provide me with your useful guidance. I wish to create a i386 iso and for that I would use a virtual machine. Also I would wish to mintify everything of the OS as the latest version of LMDE has it. Kindly inform me whether this would create some bugs and instability if I mintify the OS with the latest mint looks. Kindly also inform if "mintconstructor" would be better for creating a remaster or should I use "remastersys"? I love the look of Linux Mint, its green minty colour and everything so I desperate to create a LMDE squeeze. I have no one but you to look forward to completing this mission and I would be very thankful to you for your support. I hope you would guide me and not leave me alone as I don't think anyone else could help me in this.
Re: Making LMDE Debian squeeze?
Not to state the obvious, but why wouldn't you simply install Debian Squeeze and then add Mint's repositories to grab the Mint tools and artwork you like?
