4.0 Normal: Gnome "Freezes" at Live-CD boot

Hi guys, I have a problem booting the Live CD. Whatever boot options I use, I always end up with Gnome loading and then stopping on a black page with just the cursor in it. I had the same problem with the 7.10, at the time I didn't bother asking help. Any idea on this?

Have you tried "Safe graphics mode" - probably, just asking to make sure
